The ideal candidate for this Unix Administrator position will sit onsite in Anchorage. 1 week on-call rotation every 5 weeks will be required.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Unix Admin – L3

  • Linux Admin – L 3

  • Solaris Admin – L3

    Alternate Skills:

  • Windows Admin – L3

    Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Senior Administrator, you should be able to

  1. Handle first point escalation for all technical and process issues

  2. Ability to create and maintain scripts in shell (Bash, Korn, etc.), Python, Perl or other language

  3. Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls

  4. Install and configure software, hardware, networks, upgrade and patch systems with new releases and models

  5. Diagnose and resolve problems quickly; troubleshoot issues and outages

  6. Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements

  7. User administration (setup and maintaining account): set up accounts, workstations, and security policies for users, including password and identity management

  8. Provide technical subject matter expertise wherever required

  9. Plan and schedule Changes, coordinating with different stakeholders

  10. Perform RCA for Major Incidents related to his / her tower

  11. Follow quality / security process defined for the engagement

  12. Perform Trend analysis, identify top few incidents, and work with respective teams / individual to minimize the incidents

  13. Prepare Weekly and monthly status reports

  14. Work on Knowledge acquisition and updates to related documents

  15. Ability and patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users

  16. Manage network servers and technology tools

  17. Document system and changes

  18. Adhere to and support ITIL and Best Practices


  • 3-5 years’ experience

  • Certifications desired (hard copy)
